Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review-Quick &Violent

Boy aren’t we growing old! I can pretty confidently say that the Modern Warfare franchise marked the beginning of multiplayer gaming career for most guys. And we’ve come this far in this phenomenal series. As usual credits goes to infinity ward for game development and Activision the publisher. Although there have been other developers throughout the franchise. The inclusion of battle royale brought on a different perspective for the players. Modern Warfare too is a reboot and a slightly earlier version of the original franchise. Therefore Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review will come off a bit unfamiliar than expected.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Single player campaign

Felt appropriate to kick off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review with our beloved, ever familiar single player campaign. To be totally upfront and honest I’m quite addicted to the single player campaign. The sense of accomplishment you get after completing each checkpoint missions never gets old. A we mentioned earlier this is a prequel to the original Modern Warfare.

Our favorite Captain Price of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare returns to the action and there are few other main characters. Kate Laswell, Alex, Sergeant Kyle Garrick are some of them. Everything takes place in the fictional country of  Urzikstan. There is violence and quick-pace embedded all over the gameplay.

But it doesn’t come up as big surprise since this is war. Ambush, suicide bombers, civilian deaths are all part of the story. Personally I’m a big fan of the Call of duty:Modern Warfare 4,COD:Ghosts,Black Ops I single player campaigns. But I can pretty confidently say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a remarkable experience.

Missions rundown

I won’t layout the entire detailed storyline of each missions, which will only spoil the game for you and leave you with no curiosity. And the post is titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review. So I will layout a brief overview of how the campaign unfolds. There are two main characters throughout the game.

CIA officer Alex, SAS operative Kyle Garrick. There is also one more character named Farah Karim. The initiative of the story is recovering a dangerous chemical gas headed for Urzikstan. The campaign kicks off when Alex and the team is dispatched in Verdansk to locate the gas and the Russian convoy.

However a footage is shown prior to the beginning of missions. “Wolf” the leader of a terrorist organization named Al-Qatala makes a speech regarding their mission. Then they attack a location in London. SAS officer Garrick is sent to handle that situation alongside with Price’s assistance. It is after this incident that whilst the mission of securing the chemical gas proceeds, an ambush meets Alex and the team . This is the foundational unfolding for the next missions.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review

Overall there are three perspectives in the game. The wolf who is the leader of Al-Qatala, Russian invaders of Urzikstan, and Alex,Kyle centered US/UK allies. There are some occasional flashbacks for Farah Karims life story.

We must mention a several distinct factors in this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review though. Some of the scenes resemble movies like Hurt Locker. Captain Price pushes a guy who has been rigged with explosives off a floor and that in turn produces a massive explosion.

Also the airstrike on the enemy camp in the first mission is unlike many of the previous COD missions. Brutality and violence is well engraved in these scenes. Nevertheless there are a few missions that will remind you of COD4. You’ll know it when you play it. For me there were many action-packed scenarios in the game. The first been the airstrike incident. Next Captain Price pushes a wired guy off a balcony. Then the ambush at the convoy mission.

Bottom line, this is an awesome, nerve-wracking campaign to play. Full of intense, heat packed missions from start to end. Although it is a prequel to the original, it certainly brings about nostalgia. Specially from COD4. It is tied more with the modern world scenarios within the world super powers. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare leaves us anticipating many possibilities for the future.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Multiplayer

Jumping on to part II of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review. There are two parts for the multiplayer, Competitive multiplayer and co-operative Special Ops. Needless to say the maps in the multiplayer are from the campaign itself.

The weapon selection is much more enhanced, you can set barricades during heavy fire. The multiplayer is based on missions against Al-Qatala forces. There is a friendly fire situation unleashed as the Al-Qatala releases the toxic gas in the city. So that the forces has to fight among themselves for survival.

For me perks are the best of the multiplayer game. Even in Modern Warfare 4 we use to customize our arsenal the way we pleased and have a lot of fun. RPGs, Sleight of hand, Juggernaut, UAV jammer, Last stand were some of my favorites. All these are much more upgraded in this module. You got heartbeat sensors, team UAVs, Field upgrades. You can pinpoint enemy spots using the recon drone which is really useful for tactical play.

Gaming strategy

There is a privilege where you can mount the gun at different spots ,just imagine the sniping accuracy. The typical game modes for Call of Duty include Sabotage, TDM, Domination and S&D. Well here’s a good news. There are several new mode additions in this prequel.20 vs 20,6 vs 6,32 vs 32 in Ground war and Gunfight. Gunfight is a brand new competitive, kill or be killed mode.

Personally I’m not a fan of camping and I hate snipers. Unexpected headshots are the most hated among players. Well sad to say that camping is a big thing here in the warzone. The map is built in a camper-friendly manner and it is really frustrating.

Therefore there is an anti-camper equipment provided to ease our pain. Spawn camping is another tactic used. Although expert reviewers tend to be displeased with the usage. Because the spawn point of some maps are more opposition friendly.

Because maps like St. Petrograd, Euphrates Bridge map are more sniper friendly it really will take some time until you are familiar with the tactical skills here. Remember the vote for map after each game? yeah that one is unavailable as well. Don’t be disappointed though. There are some maps which are fair play for all. Close range and long range shooting are all possible here.

Spec Ops

This is a co-operative Call of Duty Modern warfare multiplayer mode. These are a bit tough initially, since you need good coordination in your team. Hunting down enemies, hacking terminals are a part of this gameplay. Make sure you are reviving wounded teammates and not solely fixated on getting kills.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare System Requirements

Minimum specs

  • Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • 8GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 / GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon HD 7950
  • 246GB HD space
  • DirectX 12 compatibility

Recommended Specs

  • Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD Ryzen R5 1600X processor
  • 12GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / GTX 1660 or Radeon R9 390 / AMD RX 580
  • 246GB HD space
  • DirectX 12 compatibility

However if you plan on having the premium gaming quality with RTX you have to upgrade these specifications further. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 16GB RAM should do it with the same CPU configurations. Or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 / RTX 2070 SUPER with 16GB RAM paired with an Intel core  i7-8700K for further FPS. Furthermore if your desire is to run at 4K then an i7-9th gen with RTX 2080 is the recommendation.

Final thoughts

Let us summarize Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Review. The game is packed with incredible, chilling experiences. As the roots trace back to our beloved original Modern Warfare. Sudden explosions, ambushes all over, brutal violence displays are all Call of Duty. The intense, action packed campaign is a great satisfaction to accomplish. Specially because of the realistic modern world storyline. It all happens so fast and the gunshots are never ending.

Specially the inclusion of new movements like door openings all contribute to making the game more realistic. Although the maps in the multiplayer are a bit of a let down. You still get to have a good gaming session with the all new modes like gunfight. Also don’t forget the upgraded perks and the incredible weapon customization. The graphics and sound increments the action in the gameplay. If you have a RTX card then this is the perfect game to see the ray-tracing.

Also to amplify the fun, cross platform gaming is enabled for the first time. Meaning your friends can connect via PC, Xbox One,PS4. But PC gaming is the clear winner here. Mostly because of the GPU. Pair it with a good gaming monitor and you got yourself a mind-blowing game to play.
