Pre Kaged Review: More Than A Pre Workout

So far we’ve reviewed different pre workouts that deliver optimum energy boosts and help you to attain the next level of performance you desire in the gym. Pre Kaged pre workout is an almost close to rare pre workout by Kaged Muscle and it has everything a gym rat would want in a pre workout powder. It is not a stimulant free powder though, meaning it has caffeine as an ingredient. Let’s proceed with the Pre Kaged Pre Workout Review and see if this is the pre workout you’ve been looking for.  

Pre Kaged ingredients Review

L-Citrulline

This is the most dominant ingredient in Pre Kaged with 6.5g per serving. We have an entire post detailing every aspect of L-Citrulline and you can read it here. Long story short L-Citrulline is converted to L-arginine, another type of amino acid. Which creates nitric oxide that helps better blood flow increasing exercise performance and helping you perform better in the gym.

FERMENTED BCAAs

Once again we have a complete review on Branched Chain Amino Acids aka BCAAs. Pre Kaged uses a natural, industry-leading fermentation process, and extracts the 6.5g of amino acids in PRE-KAGED from 100% plant-based sources for clean, health-forward BCAAs. Therefore you can be rest assured that your muscles are well fueled during the workout.

Anabolic Activator

3g of fermented L-Leucine for protein synthesis, tissue regeneration, and metabolism. This is a bit of a question because L-Leucine is already a part of BCAA. However enhanced protein synthesis and metabolism isn’t a bad thing given that you need to eat to fuel your body and they have to be digested quickly.

Strength and Power Matrix

1.6g of Beta Alanine, 1.5g of Creatine and 2,5g of Betaine to further strengthen your workouts. Although the amount of Beta Alanine isn’t enough the Creatine and Betaine amounts are on point. Hydrate and Defend

500mg of coconut water and 100mg of ORAC(Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) blend. These are for enhanced hydration, endurance and help slow down aging.

Neuro-Focus Matrix

2g of Taurine for reducing muscle damage, reducing fatigue and increased fat burning. 1g of N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine to increase the levels of neurotransmitters dopamine, adrenaline and norepinephrine. The much emphasized mind-muscle connection is brought out here by unwavering focus. 274 mg of PurCaf Organic Caffeine. This premium, non-GMO certified caffeine is water-extracted from green coffee beans, and supports your workouts immensely by being an aiding good focus during workouts.

How to use

Just like any other Pre workout supplement it is best utilized if consumed about a half an hour before hitting the gym. Mix one scoop with 16 – 20 ounces of water in a shaker cup and consume 30 to 45 minutes before workout. Also it is advised to shake the cup during sips. There are six flavors for you to choose from. Pre Kaged side effects

As with any supplement, Pre Kaged too has its own side effects that might vary from individual to individual depending on their body chemistry. The primary concern here is the amount of caffeine which is  274 mg per serving. That is equivalent to 2.5 cups of coffee. Too much caffeine can cause nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness and rapid heartbeat. Therefore please make sure to consult a professional or a trained physician who is aware of your body health. Also the Beta-Alanine dosage is slightly lesser than required. Nevertheless there are other ingredients to cover up. Sucralose is sweetened which means it’s not that good for blood sugar levels.  

Pre Kaged vs Pre Jym Review

Just an additional bonus piece of information for the Pre Kaged review. A widely debated subject in the pre workout supplement community. Both the supplements are well recognized and consumed by many athletes all over the globe. However one outranks the other. Kaged Muscle is a health-forward brand, therefore PRE-KAGED has been 3rd party tested, screened for banned-substances, and their ingredient profiles are transparent. The 32g of ingredients of Pre Kaged have 24 global patents and undergone over 20 clinical studies. Pre Jym on the other hand has only 26 grams of ingredients and does not possess the same amount of credibility as its competitor.  

The L-Citrulline of Pre Kaged is fermented meaning the quality is higher, while in Pre Jym it is generic. Fermented foods are rich in probiotic bacteria. Hence by consuming fermented foods you are adding beneficial bacteria and enzymes to your intestines, increasing the health of your gut and digestive system and enhancing the immune system.

Although Pre Jym has 1.5g more BCAA than Pre Kaged, the BCAA in Pre Kaged is fermented while in Pre Jym it is generic. Also if you remember Pre Kaged has an additional 3g of  L-Leucine apart from the BCAA. Pre Kaged also has vitamins such as B6 and B12, Capsicum Extract for thermogenic properties, Coconut powder for hydration and ORAC blend whereas Pre Jym doesn’t have these substances integrated. Therefore our opinion is to stick with the Pre Kaged pre workout because it functions not only as a fitness enhancing supplement. Pre Kaged vs C4 Ultimate:

Check out our in depth review of C4 Ultimate to get an understanding of the bigger picture, but for now let’s summarize briefly. In terms of ingredients, we can instantly recognize the commons of both pre workouts. Some of them are L-Citrulline, Vitamin B, Carnosyn, Taurine, Creatine and of course Caffeine. The concentrations are varied in the two pre workouts for these specific ingredients. For example, C4 ultimate has 3.2g of Carnosyn while Pre Kaged has only 1.6g and the Betaine Anhydrous amount in Pre Kaged is 2.5g while in C4 Ultimate it is 1.5g. The caffeine in C4 is further purified and filtered, therefore named as Caffeine Anhydrous.

While in Pre Kaged it is the regular caffeine. Also another interesting fact is the absence of BCAA in C4 Ultimate. Anyway, with all that said we can conclude the following using the facts and user reviews. C4 Ultimate has a better nutrient profile for pump, strength and focus sharpening. Pre Kaged has a few extra features such as a mixture of powdered vegetables plus the thermogenic and hydration properties. The C4 focuses on better physical performance in the gym.
